Abubakar Shekau, leader of the dreaded terrorist group, ‘Boko Haram’ have come out to admit and take responsibility for the killing of farmers in Borno State.

In a video released yesterday, the Boko Haram leader said that 78 farmers were killed in Zabarmari community in Jere local government area of the state because they handed over a member of the sect to the Nigerian army. He further added that those giving out intelligence on Boko Haram activities to the military will face the same fate.

Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum had said 43 residents were killed while they were working on their farmlands.

United Nations have since condemned the attack on the innocent farmers and describe the incident as  the “most violent attack” affecting civilians in 2020.
