United States Democratic Presidential Candidate,Joe Biden has called on President Buhari and the Nigerian military to stop the brutal attacks on the #EndSARS protesters in Nigeria. The Former United States Vice President said this in a statement following the recent killings of Innocent young #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Tollgate last night by the Nigerian soldiers and other parts of the country.
In a statement, Biden said that the United States stands with the Nigerian Youths to seek an end to police brutality and to also bring an end to corruption in the democracy of Nigeria in the ongoing #EndSARS campaign protest, adding that his heart goes out to all those who have lost their loved one in the violence.
In the statement, Biden said; “I urge President Buhari and the Nigerian military to cease the violent crackdown on protesters in Nigeria, which has already resulted in several deaths.
” My heart goes out to all those who have lost a loved one in the violence.
“The United States must stand with Nigerians who are peacefully demonstrating for police reform and seeking an end to corruption in their democracy.
“I encourage the government to engage in a good-faith dialogue with civil society to address these long-standing grievances and work together for a more just and inclusive Nigeria.”
