U.S President, Donald Trump in the early hours of Friday Morning revealed on his official twitter page that he and his wife Melania Trump has just tested positive to Covid-19 after a close contact with one of his top aides who already contacted the virus.
Hope Hicks and Bloomberg who are close aides to President Donald Trump had earlier tested positive. Bloomberg was first to reveal on Wednesday that she had tested positive for Covid-19, after which several sources confirmed the diagnosis to CNN. Hope Hicks was even present at the presidential debate in Cleveland Tuesday.
According to a CNN White House Correspondent Kaitlan Collins, a small group of White House officials had already knew by Thursday morning that Hicks who is one of the close media aide to the President had contracted Covid-19 and press secretary Kayleigh McEnany still held a news briefing at the White House on Thursday without wearing a mask and mentioning Hicks’ Covid-19 situation to reporters in the room.
Trump tweeted on Thursday that he and his first lady were retested again after he confirmed the news of Hicks’ diagnosis. he also tweeted that him and his wife had already started the “quarantine process” while waiting for the outcome of the result.

White House doctor’s letter: Trump’s physician, Dr. Sean P. Conley, issued a statement confirming the diagnosis and said, “The President and First Lady are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence.” Conley said he expects the President to “continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering.”
