Premier league champions, Liverpool have agreed a fee of 20 million Euros (plus 5 million in add-on) for the signature of 29 year old Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara on a four year contract.

Thiago Alcantara who is rated as one of the most technical and gifted midfielders in Europe won the Champions league with Bayern Munich last season after spending seven years with the Bundesliga Champions and set to link up with premier league title holder, liverpool in what he sees as the most difficult decision in his sporting career .

“i will close this chapter in this wonderful club as a player for seven years.

During his seven year spell with Bayern Munich,he made 235 appearance for Bayern and registered 35 goals. he won 16 trophies including seven Bundeliga titles, Champions League and Club world Cup.
liverpool were not the only team interested in the 29 year old Spain international as fellow premier league bitter rivals Manchester United were also interested in signing the 29 year old, but instead Thiago opted to play for Jurgen Klopp’s liverpool.

liverpool signing one of the best players in the world has clearly shown how liverpool have transformed under Jurgen klopp. the new midfielder will be wearing the number 6 jersey for the mersyside.

Bayern Munich Boss, Hansi Flick has paid his tribute to the departed Thiago, and in his words;

“Thiago is an exceptional player who spent seven hugely successful years here, he’s a wonderful person and an outstanding professional. it was very emotional today when he said goodbye to us all”, Flick said.
