Driven by the passion to keep Eket clean and to surmount the flood challenge in the Oil City, the Executive Chairman of Eket, Rt. Hon. Deacon Nsikan John, today, 3rd. August 2020, received in his office, the Site Manager of Chinese Construction firm, CCECC, Engr. Jason Zhang.
Engr. Zhang said; after receiving an invitation for collaboration from the Eket Chairman, he decided to honour the invitation straight up, knowing fully that it a worthwhile invitation.
The Site Manager of CCECC used the opportunity to congratulate Rt. Hon. John for his elevation from Vice Chairman to Executive Chairman, after his Boss was elevated to the State Executive Council, as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Engr. Zhang said he is impressed at the level of commitment so far from the Eket Chairman towards keeping the City Clean. He immediately sought to know the areas of collaboration.
In his short speech, the Eket first gentleman, Rt. Hon. John thanked the Site Engineer for his quick response to his invitation despite short notice and his tight schedule. You are indeed a responsible Corporate Citizen of Eket, he said.
The Eket Council Boss, told the Engineer that the meeting has one item Agenda. That is to see ways to partner the Council in flood control and waste management in the City. He told the CCECC Engineer that the flashpoints within the City Center are Grace Bill Road, Udo Umo/Edem Udo End/Enen Ekpene axis and Park road.
Responding, Engr. Zhang without mincing words, said that his company has enjoyed tremendous peace in Eket over the years, and is ready to partner the Council Boss towards a cleaner Eket.
The Engineer immediately requested that the Chairman should lead him to inspect the areas so mentioned for possible intervention.
With the kind of enthusiasm and passion the Council Chairman is having toward a cleaner City, and if sustained, and with enough funds, Eket would soon become the cleanest City in Nigeria.
