Former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode who recently called an Akwa Ibom State Journalist, Eyo Charles “stupid” for asking him who bankrolled his recent tour of some Southern states arrived Akwa Ibom State on Friday for a Press Conference.

Members of the Nigerian Union of Journalist in Akwa Ibom State has resolve to snub the press conference planned for the former minister and in a statement on Friday, the chapter directed all journalist in the state not to attend any activity organized by the former minister.

The Statement, directed to all channels which was dated August 28, 2020 and signed by the state secretary reads;

In line with the disposition of the national leadership of our great Union, the State Council has directed that no journalist should attend a media parley with Femi Fani-Kayode or any of his activity at any location in Akwa Ibom State.

The NUJ is not part of the visit.

Although, the ex minister later apologize for lashing out at the Daily Trust reporter right after expressing his anger. Fani Kayode has come under heavy criticism of late.

The Former Aviation Minister Fani Kayode is in Day Two of his tour of several projects locations in Akwa Ibom State having arrived the state on Wednesday before commencing the tour on Thursday morning.

Among places visited include the 21 storey Dakkada Towers, the State Worship Centre, the New International Airport Terminal Building, Ibom Air, the Roads and Flood Control projects, the New Isolation Center and PSR Modular Laboratory, Green Houses among others.

He is also visiting the Syringe Factory, Flour Mill, Metering Solutions Factory, Timber and Plywood Factory, Ekim Power Substation, and the Eket Stadium and international market in Eket, among others.

The former presidential spokesperson had earlier paid a visit to the Governor Udom Emmanuel at the Government House, Uyo where the Governor briefed him on his blueprint under the Completion Agenda.

Chief Fani-Kayode is expected to address the media at the end of his tour.
