The Federal Government said yesterday that it would prosecute Mr John Emejulu, an Enugu architect for destroying the perimeter fence of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport.
This was made known by the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika while speaking to newsmen after inspecting the destruction site of the perimeter fence covering about 3km
narrating the incident of the destruction, he said; “while the procurement (of the Enugu airport rehabilitation) was going on, a certain cantankerous individual by name Arch. J.J. Emejulu came with bulldozers and hundreds of armed thugs and destroyed more than 2km of our fence”.
“He (Emejulu) has given the government the opportunity to show how not to willfully destroy public asset belonging to over 200 million people”
“this will certainly be the end of this kind of recklessness. we will not forgive him. All that is involved in this kind of arrangement will be directed by the Chief of Staff, the inspector-General of Police and the Director General of the DSS to do the needful and bring him to book.
“i am very sad: it is wrong and we must seize the opportunity and deal with him summarily to serve as a deterrent to others”.
