Former Vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar and some prominent chieftains of the opposition People Democratic Party (PDP) has ruled out every possibility of a return to the All Progressive Congress party (APC) which is the ruling party, stating categorically that they are not defecting.

This was made known on Monday 3rd August, 2020 after former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and Senator Barnabas Gemade dumped PDP to return to the ruling party.

Media aide to former Vice president, Atiku Abubakar while speaking to Reporters on Monday, made it clear that Atiku is not returning to APC, describing the All Progressive Congress party to being a sinking ship that is on a downward journey and not attractive to anybody.

“It is not true. His excellency Atiku Abubakar will not return to a sinking ship. All of these shenanigans are to distract Nigerians from the ruling party monumental failures at governance that has made our people poorer to the extent that we are now the poverty capital of the world”, he Said.

“His leadership for the last five years has Left our country more insecure and more divided than at any other time. It’s policies have made more people jobless and compromised over sovereignty. Going back to the All Progressive Congress party (APC) is like willingly opting to go to hell”, he added.
