Chelsea coach Frank lampard and his young Chelsea team continue to prove doubters wrong after recording yet another premier league win against crystal palace on Saturday at Stamford bridge.
The match which ended 2-0 in favour of Chelsea was Chelsea sixth consecutive league win, the first time the blues have won six on the bounce since the end of their 2016/17 tittle winning campaign under Antonio Conte.
Frank lampard initially came under lots of criticism for his choice of bringing in young academy players to play in the premier league. But his hands were tight as the summer transfer ban handed to Chelsea forced him to turn his attention to young academy talents. The likes of Tammy Abraham (22), Fikayo Tomori (21) , Manson mount (20) and many other exciting young players who have established themselves already for Chelsea so far this season all are product of Chelsea academy.
Tammy Abraham who have been very impressive for Chelsea this season have already bagged 10 goals for the club and many more to come and has been tipped by many to win the PFA young player of the year award , an award which was won by Manchester City wenger Reheem Sterling last season.
Frank lampard has done a remarkable job ever since joining Chelsea, he has transform a young and underrated Chelsea team to tittle contenders already. No one saw this coming, no one ever thought that Frank lampard could ever win the “Premier league manager of the month award” with such young team. But he was crown manager of the month for October. According to Frank lampard, he initially wanted to work with former Chelsea teammate Didier Drogba at Chelsea, but Drogba turn down the offer as he didn’t believe he will come this far with Chelsea. For years, Chelsea were criticised for not giving their academy prospects opportunities in the first team and the club often rely on the million of their owner Roman Abramovich to sign big players with big money rather than to look towards the talented young stars that are emerging at Stamford bridge. But things have change now, thanks to Frank lampard and thanks to the transfer ban handed to them which have given their academy product the chance and they have grabbed it with both hands. Tammy Abraham, Tomori and Manson mount have all been rewarded for their hardwork at Chelsea with a call-up to the England squad.
Tammy Abraham scored his 10 goal for Chelsea against crystal palace on Saturday, two second half goals from Tammy and Pulisic saw them ease pass crystal palace. It was Christian Pulisic third goal in three games so far as he continue his impressive run of form. The win over crystal palace meant Chelsea now sit third in the table and will be hoping that Manchester city and liverpool will drop point when the two Titans clash on sunday, as they continue to make grounds on the top two.
