Arsenal had a busy transfer dateline as they completed four deals on the day that saw Iwobi end his 15 year stay with the club and have the 32 year old Brazilian Defender, Davi Luiz sign a 2 year deal with the London side.
Before the window closed the club made the following headlines:
- Arsenal sign Tierney from Celtic
- Luiz joins Arsenal from Chelsea
- Iwobi bid accepted, deal sheet submitted by Everton
- 7pm deadline to complete deal sheet moves
- Nketiah makes Leeds loan move
- Thompson joins Brentford
For a club that started out with total inactivity in the market it was a last ditch effort to set up a team that could turn their perennial near miss story into at least a major title this season.
Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah joined Championship side Leeds United on a season-long loan deal ending the hopes of seeing the promise of this amazing talent blossom this season at Emirates. Apart from looking to their fellow Londoners, Chelsea for solution for their defensive problem, the gunners also got a deal with Celtic for their defender Kieran Tierney in a deal believed to be a Scottish record £25m.
The Gunners have been chasing the 22-year-old throughout the summer, having two bids rejected before finally sealing the deal on deadline day.
The left-back will wear the number three shirt at the Emirates and has signed a long-term deal.
