An American identified as Breedlove Shawn, is to be charged to court for assaulting a towing van operator at Murtala Mohammed International airport. The Divisional Police Officer, International Airport, Danjuma Garba, who confirmed the incident, said the man would be charged with assault and “inflicting grievous bodily injury” on his victim.

Giving details about the incident, Mr. Lamidi Falekulo, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Billafary Towing Service Limited, confirmed that the victim is an airport towing van operative charged with enforcing parking violations directives at the airport.

The incident  is said to have happened on Wednesday when officials of the towing service accosted Shawn for parking his vehicle at the restricted area of the airport.

According to Falekulo, the victim was rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital in Ikeja, where he was operated on.

In his words: “As they were struggling, I didn’t know how he managed to break the key in the worker’s ear. The Airport Police Command detained him and our staff was taken to LASUTH where they operated on him to remove the key,”
