The Board Member 11 in the State Universal Basic Education Board, Bishop Ime Ekpe has lauded the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for his efforts in revamping the education

He said the current leadership of SUBEB under the watch of Prof. Maria Ikrok is working tirelessly to ensure effective compliance with the free and compulsory education policy drive of the present administration.

Bishop Ime Ekpe stated this yesterday while interacting with the New Vision Newspaper and Memories TV media crew in his office at the

State Secretariat Complex in Uyo.

Bishop Ekpe said as members of State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), they have hit the ground running by instilling the core essence of their duties which have to do with supervision, monitoring, control and evaluation. He highlighted the achievements recorded so far by the board to include; renovation of classroom block, training and retraining of teachers, provision of adequate facilities like; boreholes, generating sets, toilet facilities and as well as toys and equipments, for children in schools.

He lauded the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for his prompt intervention in SUBEB counterpart funding, adding that based on his knowledge these funding runs into billions of naira annually. He further thanked the Governor for prompt payment of teacher’s salaries in the State, noting that teacher’s welfare is one of the top priorities of government in the State.

Bishop Ekpe said that the number of school enrollment in the State have double, and as such government putting all the workable mechanisms to ensure that public schools in the State compete effectively with the private schools in the

State.

He seized the opportunity to called the people of the State to continue to rally round the Governor so as to enable him continue in his quest of provision of more dividends of democracy to the citizenry, adding that the people of Nsit Atai will continue to support the Governor beyond 2013. ” Governor Udom Emmanuel will continue to have the supports of our people even beyond 2023 ”, he said.

Responding the Managing Director of CUB Communication, Mr. Ubong  Andrew-Essien congratulated the Board member on his appointment and went on to reel out their intentions for the visit. He said the visit was necessary in order to martial out plans on how to partner with the Education Board , the government , corporate organizations, institutions and well-meaning Akwa Ibom people in order to build a virile and healthy society.

The head of the media company who is the publisher of C&M Magazines, The New Vision Newspaper and the operator of Memories TV, Uyo appealed to Hon. Ime Ekpe to carry the organization in the Board’s activities.
